After months of waiting and weeks of goodbyes, this adventure has finally begun. We’ve been told numerous times by Peace Corps in the months leading up to this that our patience would often be tested. My patience was immediately tested before I got to training in
I spent Friday night to Sunday morning with my grandparents and some family on my mother’s side. Some of the family, I haven’t seen for a good while, so it was good to see them again. But as with every meeting with someone, there had to be a goodbye…or goodbyes. I’ve never really like goodbyes, and after one goodbye after another, I’m sure that I don’t like goodbyes. It gets to a point where the emotion on my side just doesn’t exist.
But for every goodbye I’ve had over the last couple weeks, I think I have made up for it in hellos over the last couple days. There are 58 of us heading to
The last couple of days here in

And so your adventure begins. Can't wait for the story. Dad

ReplyDeleteSoak it up, man. Soak.It.Up.
Never stop asking questions.
See with your eyes, your mind and your heart.
Say "yes" more often than you say "no."
Then come back to this space and tell me all about it. I'm learning through you this time.
Tho, if I hit lotto, you just may get a visit.
Best of luck, safe travels, stay healthy and all that jazz!

Doesn't seem that long ago you were just leaving for Ghana, and now here you are already travelling to Mozambique. Can't wait to read about the country and your experiences, and look forward to your pics - especially all those smiling kiddies you will fall in love with and vice versa.

Hi Lee
ReplyDeleteYour students will be so lucky to have you teach them a new language!! It so good that your heart is so big that you will be able to make room for all of them. As for me, you will always be in mine.
